A big shout out from Shufflebottom to Shortland Structures

We go back a long way is a much-used phrase that carries a deep emotional resonance. This could not be truer than of Shufflebottom’s relationship with Shortland Structures, the Sussex-based company, well-trusted across the South of England for delivering both high-standards and structures that ‘stand the test of time.’

Our relationship with Shortland Structures, just like the buildings, has stood the test of time. Even though Shortland Structures was started in 2005 and today is run by Brett Shortland, our connection with the Shortland name goes back even further. In fact, to over forty years ago, when Brett’s father, a much-loved man and a true character, visited us at our Llandeilo yard to buy some fixings when he was doing a job locally in the Carmarthenshire area. And that’s how it all started! In the years since, Shortland Structures has become a friend and not just a customer, an aim Shortland Structures itself has at the heart of its mission which has led to them being the go-to supplier of agricultural, equestrian and industrial buildings for their customers.

We are proud to have been the supplier of choice for Shortland Structures over this period. A visit to the Shortland Structures’ portfolio on the website www.shortlandstructures.com or the company’s active Linkedin presence, shows how much we figure and how consistently! We have just done a tally and we reckon it’s over 200 buildings we have delivered to Shortland Structures on behalf of his customers over the years. Steel-framed buildings, large and small, have our structural steel at the heart of a diverse range of structures across the South of England, satisfying the range of creative options demanded by customers.

Currently being erected is our latest in this long line of buildings. And it’s one of the biggest to date and is to be used as a Waste Transfer Building for TJ Waste at Northwood Farm in Arundell. The building is of considerable size, measuring 42.7m long x 35m wide x 10m to eaves/12 m to ridge with 9 no. equal bays. The roof is clad in Olive Green 0.5mm Kingspan KS10000RW XL Forte Leathergrain Plastic Coated Box Profile QUADCORE 80mm Composite insulated panels with 80mm mineral fibre insulation and perforated liner with ashgrid system. End and sides (below eaves) are clad in Vertical Olive Green 0.5mm Kingspan Profile with 80mm mineral fibre insulation and perforated liner with ashgrid system and each end incorporates 7 no. gable columns (610 x 305 a 149 Kg/m U.B.) and one side, incorporates 1 no. door column (spec as ends).

Shufflebottom is delighted to be associated with Shortland Structures, and would like to thank them for investing in us over the last four decades. We look forward to continuing our relationship with them over the next forty years!

Investing in Shufflebottom offers more than financial returns; it is a commitment to trust, excellence, and outstanding customer service. I value the long-standing friendships that I have made.
Brett Shortland, Owner, Shortland Structures
